FLAG FOOTBALL:
Flag football teaches sportsmanship and football fundamentals to 5 and 6 years old boys and girls. 7 year olds weighing 55 lbs. or less can also join the program with approval of the flag director. Teams usually practice 1 to 2 times during the week and games are played on Saturday mornings at Prairie Ridge High School. Practice starts in the beginning of August, games start at the end of August and run through the end of October. Each team will play 9 games. Message from General Manager of Flag Football
Welcome to the 2011 Jr. Wolves Flag Football Season!
My name is Ed Ferree, and I am the Flag General Manager. I¹m looking forward to having your child with the Jr. Wolves this year. As our full program schedule evolves, I will be providing you with more details about the season, so please check this site again.
In order to make this year a success, I need as many volunteers as possible. I am hoping to have 8 teams. We are in need head coaches and as many assistant coaches as we can get. Head coaches usually work with two or three assistants to share the coaching responsibilities and to minimize conflicts with work demands, schedules, etc. Each team will consist of 8 to 10 kids. The more assistant coaches on each team the better. It is a great opportunity to participate with your child and to get to know other kids and parents in the league.

IMPORTANT DATES:
Sunday, 7/24 - Family Night Kick-Off Party, 6:00 pm at the Prairie Ridge varsity football field All players and family should attend
Saturday, 8/6 - First practice 'combine' (all players together), 9:00 - 10:30 AM at PR varsity practice field (behind the baseball fields)
Sunday, 8/7 General Manager makes teams and notifies coaches
Week of 8/8 Coaches call players and start their practices
Saturday, 8/27 - Flag opening day games at PR varsity practice field; times: 9:00-10:00am, 10:00-11:00am
Saturday, 10/22 - Last game of the season and awards handout
EQUIPMENT, ETC:
The program provides a game Jersey to each player prior to the first game day. All other items on this list are your responsibility.
For Practice:
Mouth guard (mandatory)
Protective cup (recommended)
Cleats (recommended) Any type of formed plastic cleat is fine.
Jug of water<it¹s always hot! Label them too.
Mosquito spray
We practice in the rain and cold weather so please dress your player accordingly. If there is lightening or excessive heat practice will be cancelled via email.
For Games:

Black shorts or track pants (mandatory). We are asking the players all wear the same color shorts or pants.

In the case of rain or cold weather, please dress your player accordingly.
All sweatshirts or Under Armor must be worn under the game Jersey. Jackets and rain gear can be worn on the sidelines only.
IMPORTANT: If you will be dropping your child off and not staying with him/her, please notify your head coach. The head coach will need your cell phone and it is to be kept on at all times while you are away from the field.
