HEY JR. WOLVES…!
The 3rd annual Jr. Wolves "Fill the Den" food drive is now underway!
The Jr. Wolves have worked with the CRYSTAL LAKE FOOD PANTRY to help them in their mission to serve the hungry in the community.
The PANTRY Annually-
-has approximately 13,000 visits by people in need
-distributes approximately 15,000 bags of groceries
-gives nearly 100 tons of food to the hungry
-serves over 300 families per month!
These are families that are in need due to things including job loss, temporary illness or disability, or short term medical needs. Approximately 75% use the pantry short term(less than 36 months). Only about 25% use the pantry long term(more than 36 months. many of which are seniors)
We can help make a difference in our community by supporting the fact that NO ONE SHOULD GO HUNGRY!

The last two years of the drive, we were able to donate approximately 1,000 pounds of food and stocked the shelves for families in need coming the following day. It is a real eye opener for our children. For example, macaroni and cheese was in a section with items that are considered a luxury!
We hope to increase our donation by as much as possible!

At each Jr. Wolves home game there will be containers to leave your donations that are located by a "Fill the Den" sign. We are also accepting monetary donations. The pantry works with the Northern Illinois Food Bank and can buy food for cents on the dollar. If you would like to make a monetary donation, please contact Sarah Thurow at hairdir1@sbcglobal.net.
Our children are very fortunate to be involved in such a great program. Let's show our community what the Jr. Wolves are about and give back to our community!
